Grantham University Named Top University for Veterans

Grantham UniversityGrantham University, a 60-year-old institution delivering accredited online degrees to working adult students around the world, has been named a top university for veterans by Military Times EDGE.

The rankings are a result of a poll of more than 500 student veterans. The categories the polling covered included tuition, participation in the Yellow Ribbon Program, relaxed residency requirements, veterans education services, acceptance of credits from recommendations by the American Council on Education, veteran support programs and accreditation.

If proposed cuts in the military tuition assistance program happen, Excelsior’s students will not have to make up the difference

Albany, N.Y. (November 1, 2011) – The Department of Defense (DoD) may be considering reducing the amount of tuition assistance it provides to military personnel, cuts that could have a severe impact on the finances and budgets of military families across the nation. For students in the military at Excelsior College, one of the nation’s largest private colleges, this won’t be a problem. The distance learning institution has announced that if federal budget constraints force a decrease in military Tuition Assistance, Excelsior will adopt those lower rates to avoid passing on costs to students.

Veterans’ Reimbursement of IEEE Computer Society Software Development Certifications Expanded under GI Bill Provisions

IEEE Computer SocietyLOS ALAMITOS, Calif., 27 September, 2011 – Reimbursement of IEEE Computer Society software development certifications has been expanded for veterans under the Post-9/11 GI Bill.

Under the bill, veterans are eligible for 100 percent reimbursement of the US $395 cost of taking the Certified Software Development Associate (CSDA) exam for entry-level developers and the $495 cost of taking the Certified Software Development Professional (CSDP) exam for mid-level professionals.
