WASHINGTON, D.C.—The U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Hiring Our Heroes announced today that it will expand its program from 100 hiring fairs nationwide in its first year to 400 fairs in its second year. Kevin Schmiegel, executive director of the Chamber’s Hiring Our Heroes veterans initiative, made the announcement in an exclusive interview this morning on NBC’s Today Show.

VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System (GLA)LOS ANGELES, CA., Jan., 25 - VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System (GLA) in collaboration with New Directions Inc. (NDI) and A Community of Friends (ACOF) will host a groundbreaking ceremony for the Sepulveda Ambulatory Care Center (SACC) buildings 4 and 5, on Friday, February 3, 2012 starting at 11:00 am. Buildings 4 and 5 will provide supportive and therapeutic housing for 147 formerly homeless veterans and disabled veterans.

Patriot Run Across America‘Patriot Run Across America’ Seeks to Raise One Million Dollars for Wounded Warrior Project by Running from San Francisco to Key West in 80 Days

On March 1, 2012 ultra distance runner John Pyle will begin the ‘Patriot Run Across America’ with a goal of clocking 45 miles daily over 80 days, finishing with the Keys 100 Mile Race from Key Largo to Key West on May 20th. Local runner and marathon clubs across the country will join John as he carries the American flag throughout the entire run.
