GA, IL, NC, TX Receive $3 Mil Grants

U.S. Department of LaborWASHINGTON – The states of Georgia, Illinois, North Carolina and Texas will receive grants totaling $3 million to develop strategies aimed at helping returning Army veterans find employment more quickly through the public workforce system, Secretary of Labor Hilda L. Solis announced today. This funding represents an initiative of the U.S. Department of Labor and the U.S. Army under the Unemployment Compensation for Ex-service Members program.

Labor Dept Awards 90 More Grants for Training Homeless Vets

U.S. Department of LaborUS Labor Department announces more than $20 million in grants to provide job training for more than 11,000 homeless veterans

WASHINGTON–The U.S. Department of Labor today awarded 90 grants totaling more than $20 million to fund job training and support services that will help more than 11,000 veterans succeed in civilian careers. The grants are being awarded through the department’s Homeless Veterans Reintegration Program.

Employers VOW to Hire Heroes
