Department of Labor extends $9 mil grant to benefit 4,000 vets

U.S. Department of Labor4,000 veterans to benefit from $9 million in US Department of Labor job training grants to continue existing programs

WASHINGTON– Secretary of Labor Hilda L. Solis today announced 22 grants totaling more than $9 million to provide approximately 4,000 veterans with job training to help them succeed in civilian careers.  The grants are being awarded under the U.S. Department of Labor’s Veterans Workforce Investment Program to continue successful programs into second and third years.


CitiMortgage to Reduce Mortgage Payments for Disabled Veterans

CitigroupCitiMortgage today announced the Citi® Disabled Veterans Mortgage Relief Program, a new initiative that will allow veterans wounded, injured or otherwise disabled in the line of duty to make reduced monthly payments on CitiMortgage-owned mortgages. The new program will offer an interest rate reduction of 2.5% on existing mortgages for a period of two years. Surviving spouses of military personnel who died while on active duty may also be eligible for the program.
