The Washington Redskins, GlaxoSmithKline and other Redskins health and wellness partner organizations will host the fourth annual Timeout for Veterans and Military Health event that will help veterans tackle chronic diseases by offering free health screenings on Saturday, Oct. 29 at FedExField.
Around 72 percent of veterans have one or more chronic conditions. This events goal is to create awareness, reduce the impact and assist veterans in their fight against chronic diseases.
Military members, veterans and their families will have the opportunity to participate in free cholesterol, diabetes, blood pressure, lung-function, prostate and glaucoma screenings. Health educators will also be available to discuss screening results in a one-on-one setting. Attendees will also have the opportunity to tour the Redskins locker room and get a players perspective of FedExField while learning how to be proactive about their health.
