The Veterans Retraining Assistance Program (VRAP) offers a renewed opportunity for education/training and job assistance to unemployed Veterans 35-60 years old.   As of this week there have been over 117,000 applicants.

VRAP Makes Headway

The Veterans Retraining Assistance Program (VRAP) program has garnered more applicants (over 97K), COE’s (about 80K) and enrolled (over 30K).  There is still much to do to encourage those who have a COE to use their VRAP benefit before it expires in March 2014.

Employers VOW to Hire Heroes

In an effort to reduce Veteran unemployment, the President signed into law the VOW to Hire Heroes Act of 2011 last November.  Included in this new law are the Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC), Special Employer Incentive (SEI), and Veteran Retraining Assistance Program (VRAP).
