Veterans Retraining Assistance Program (VRAP)The Veterans Retraining Assistance Program (VRAP) program has garnered more applicants (over 97K), COE’s (about 80K) and enrolled (over 30K).  There is still much to do to encourage those who have a COE to use their VRAP benefit before it expires in March 2014.

The most recent employment information was released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics this past Friday. Below is a quick summary, attached is a PDF detailing the full report.

Bottom line:

Overall unemployment – 7.9%

Veteran unemployment – 7.6%

  • Veteran unemployment rate remained lower than the non-veteran unemployment rate for 8th consecutive month
  • 75% of all unemployed Veterans are over the age of 35
